Job Summary: Punchbowl News is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Events Associate to join our dynamic and growing events team. This role is key in supporting the planning, promotion, and execution of a variety of events—including editorial, social, and special events.
The Events Associate will focus heavily on developing attendee-facing communications, while also contributing to the creation and maintenance of event pages, invitation lists, marketing materials, and social media content. In addition, the role provides logistical and registration support throughout the event process and serves as a direct point of contact for attendees during events.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the setup, maintenance, and registration process for all Punchbowl News event pages
- Execute pre- and post-event promotion for editorial and social events, including email campaigns (invitations, confirmations, and reminders) and social media content
- Provide on-site support to the event production team, particularly with attendee check-in and registration
- Utilize event management systems to build event pages, maintain attendee lists, manage communications, and track event performance through data analysis
- Coordinate participation of key stakeholders—including lawmakers, special guests, attendees, and sponsors—to ensure smooth event execution
- Serve as a primary point of contact for attendees, both via email and on-site during events, delivering exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with the broader events and marketing teams on additional tasks and projects as needed to support overall event success
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning or event coordination
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and clear, professional communication abilities
- Proficiency with event management, project management, and/or CRM software platforms
- Comfortable interfacing with high-level stakeholders, including members of Congress, government officials, sponsors, and members of the Punchbowl News community
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with Canva and social media platforms is a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary for this role is in the range of $65,000-$85,000. Final compensation will be based on scope, work experience and relevant skills.
