Kelley Drye is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Marketing Events Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and management of firm-sponsored events. The portfolio of events may include managing client seminars and CLEs, networking receptions, client entertainment, webinars, and attorney retreats, among other programs. The Marketing Events Manager will play a key role in creating meaningful experiences that strengthen client relationships, support attorney business development efforts, and enhance the firm’s brand. This role can be in our New York or Washington D.C. office.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Execution:
- Collaborate with business development team and attorneys to develop event strategies that align with business goals.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute firm-hosted events, such as client seminars and CLEs, networking receptions, client entertainment, and other in-person business development programs.
- Collaborate with marketing communications team to manage event logistics, including venue selection, contract negotiations, catering, AV needs, branding, and materials.
- Oversee event registration processes and attendee communications.
- Ensure a seamless event experience through detailed planning, onsite execution, and communication with internal stakeholders.
- Track key performance metrics, collect feedback, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
Webinars and Virtual Meetings:
- Work closely with business development team and attorneys to develop content strategies for webinars that align with client interests and business development objectives.
- Manage webinar logistics, including scheduling, speaker coordination, technology setup, registration, and audience engagement tools.
- Coordinate with the marketing communications team to create promotional strategies, including email invitations, social media, and website updates to maximize attendance.
- Oversee the technical execution of webinars, ensuring smooth delivery, troubleshooting any issues, and working with IT or vendors as needed.
- Develop post-event follow-up strategies, including surveys, on-demand content distribution, and lead tracking to measure ROI.
Event Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with marketing communications team to create event invitations, promotional materials, and digital campaigns to maximize attendance and engagement.
Internal Events & Attorney Meetings:
- Support the planning and execution of practice group retreats, attorney meetings, and firmwide gatherings.
- Identify A/V needs and coordinate with IT team members, collaborate with key stakeholders on final agenda and run of show, conduct A/V testing and run throughs, and ensure slides and other presentation materials and collateral are finalized.
Budget & Vendor Coordination:
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Establish relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable contracts for event services.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of event planning experience, preferably in a law firm, professional services, or corporate environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, hospitality, business, or a related field preferred.
- Skills: Strong project management, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Technology: Proficiency in event registration platforms, CRM systems, and virtual event technologies (Zoom, Webex, etc.).
- Interpersonal: Ability to build relationships with attorneys, clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in New York City if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications (e.g., JD/technology) for example. New York City Salary Range: Low: $130,000 High: $155,000.
