Position Summary
The Director, Marketing leads the strategic planning and execution of marketing initiatives to enhance awareness, engagement, and success in the mission, services, and impact of Brighton Marine and its affiliates, including in the areas of healthcare, housing and hope. This role drives brand visibility, oversees digital marketing and campaign management, and ensures measurable growth aligned with the organization’s mission of supporting veterans and military families. The Director will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to design innovative marketing strategies that expand reach and impact and drives development of a differentiated value story. To be effective in the role, the candidate must be able to thrive in a dynamic, sometimes ambiguous, environment and deliver impactful value stories.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Serving as a trusted partner, advisor and collaborator to Brighton Marine leadership, develop and oversee a comprehensive marketing strategy that builds awareness of Brighton Marine’s programs and services.
- Lead market research, brand positioning, and audience segmentation to inform campaigns.
- Provide strategic leadership to internal marketing staff and/or external vendors, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and target audiences.
Campaign & Content Development
- Oversee creation of marketing materials, digital content, advertising campaigns, and print collateral.
- Ensure brand consistency across all channels, including website, social media, email, and community outreach.
- Partner with Communications team on messaging to ensure integration with broader organizational communications.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, veteran-serving organizations, and healthcare networks to amplify outreach.
- Coordinate marketing efforts with internal program teams to support enrollment, housing occupancy, and service utilization.
- Represent marketing initiatives in cross-functional meetings with leadership, operations, and service delivery teams.
Analytics & Performance Management
- Establish and track KPIs to measure marketing effectiveness and ROI.
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on campaign performance, audience engagement, and strategic outcomes.
- Recommend adjustments based on data-driven insights to optimize impact.
Budget & Vendor Oversight
- Manage marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Oversee contracts with marketing agencies, media vendors, and creative partners.
- Approve campaign spending, ensuring accountability and alignment with financial targets.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
- 8–15 years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic marketing plans, preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
- Experience managing budgets, staff, and vendors.

Physical Nature of the Job
Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time and move throughout the campus, potentially lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
