Human Resources Manager
A non-profit organization is seeking a Human Resources Manager to work closely with the executive team to foster a positive, rewarding work environment. This role will support and empower team members, both individually and collectively, to achieve the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
- Advise senior management on overall strategic human resource best practices.
- Identify, implement, or optimize HR systems to support efficient and effective management of HR information and data.
- Foster a sense of belonging, engagement, and excellence across all departments and teams. Support and facilitate an environment in which staff take initiative, provide feedback, and collaborate based on mutual respect
- Partner with hiring managers to identify and attract new talent, including facilitating recruitment, advertising, and supporting senior managers as needed.
- Oversee and manage a comprehensive onboarding process for new team members.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to review and develop benefits programs that support employee recruitment and retention.
- Educate employees about benefits programs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and local regulations.
- Develop programs and strategies to recognize staff achievements, provide team-building opportunities, and boost morale and well-being, with attention to a hybrid work environment.
- Lead and organize the annual review process and develop systems to ensure it runs smoothly.
- Oversee the biweekly payroll process.
- Maintain personnel files securely and confidentially, including all required filing and employee record retrieval systems for past and current employees.
- Stay current with HR trends, best practices, federal and state regulatory changes, new HR technologies, talent management strategies, and employment law; communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to senior management.
- Ensure annual audits, such as Workers’ Compensation and other relevant audits, are completed on schedule.
- Periodically review and propose updates to the employee handbook.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Minimum of six years of Human Resources experience required; experience in a not-for-profit setting preferred.
- SHRM-CP preferred
- Sound judgment and excellent analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Service-oriented, diplomatic, confidential, flexible, and resourceful.
