Job Overview:
The Dallas Mavericks are looking for an experienced Photographer to capture, edit and organize high-end images for all Off-Court related initiatives. The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller with a thorough understanding of all aspects of photography. This role will provide an expansive opportunity for the candidate to both shoot and edit various forms of creative photo content.
Essential Job Function:
- Captures high-quality images with strong artistic sensibilities to satisfy a diverse array of projects
- Collaborates closely with Community, GEM, Mavs Academy, Mavs Gaming, and Mavs Take Action staff
- Prepares for in-studio and on-location shoots by determining lighting and other requirements
- Follows all procedures for photography equipment
- Corrects color of digital photographs from photo shoots and digital art files in order to closely match real-life tones
- Produces a high volume of digital images while maintaining exceptional quality
- Completes edits, tones, retouches and additional editing adjustments on digital images
- Works closely with Supervisor to ensure required photographic aesthetics are delivered
- Ensures images are labeled, organized, stored, and archived appropriately upon editing completion
- Maintains consistent and organized digital workflow
- Identifies and informs Supervisor of photography equipment maintenance needs
- Completes all assignments on time according to direction
- Maintains current knowledge of design and technology trends
- Learns new techniques, tools, and technology as required
- Maintains a clean and orderly workstation and set spaces
- Adapts to additional duties and tasks
- Contributes to team effort by fulfilling responsibilities with a positive attitude
Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Ability to take professional quality photographs
- A strong eye for visual composition
- Strong understanding of technology and equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting and specialized software
- Strong understanding of still photography, lighting techniques and principles of commercial and documentary photography
